stackon/ field and stream turn pattern

Mods please move if wrong place:

Long story short, don't use the safe much and while I know the combo (wrote it down) I cannot recall the pattern to turn which way when. I know the combo is correct as I got it open on like the tenth try the other day, but of course I forgot how many times I went left right. I did a Google search but could not find much. Anyone want to help me out and let me know the pattern?

Thank you

I don't know the pattern for that safe but the "spinning" combination safes I've used (several at bank branches where I worked) were all counter-clockwise first and either 4, 3, 2 revolutions, alternating counter and clockwise, or 2, 1, 0 revolutions. Never did have one that was 3, 2, 1.

Should be relatively easy to figure out if you know the numbers.

One would think, I just need to write down all the possibilities of turns then mark them off as I do them I guess. I kept trying all different ways, and was probably just repeating myself, which lead to frustration and me putting the firearms in another safe that I could open.

My other ones are second nature so I don't even think about the pattern, and when I do I mess myself up.

Exactly right.

There really can't be more than like 6 possibilities. You've used the safe before so you must have some clue as to how it works, such as do you stay on the last number or go to zero, etc. As such, there isn't that much left to doubt.

It's not going to be 12 turn, then 18, then 7. :D

I think the starting is messing me up more than anything, can't recall if its three turns then zero to start or what.

Just curious if anyone else had a similar model and could help. I guess I will try the "keep track" method.

I use to get some great deals on safes that people could remember the combo to, but not the sequence.

My main safe is (After clearing the dial three times clockwise) go counter clockwise three times, stopping on the first number, then clockwise 2 times, stopping on the second number, then counter clockwise once, stopping on the third number, turn handle and open.

My secondary safe is the same, except you stop on the last number, turn the dial back to zero and then turn the handle to open.

Definitely write down at least whether you turn it R-L-R or L-R-L. Most locks do not require you to turn the dial back to zero in order to open them.
