SR45 Magazine Release

My newly purchased SR45's magazine release button has movement in both directions when the magazine is inserted (not when the magazine is out). Will Ruger fix this or is it inherent in the design? Anybody experience this issue? I checked another SR45 at a gun show. Same characteristic.

It's an ambi safety. I just got a sr9c and it's the same way. Good for left handed shooters to drop mags.
