Spyderco Endura, Plain Edge

Kentucky Rifle

New member
What a nice Valentine! My wife just presented me with a new Spyderco "Endura" clip knife. I already have the "Cricket" model. I really like these knives. Spyderco's are the sharpest knife right out of the box that I've ever tried.
Anybody else like Spyderco's?

Yep...my Spydie is the BF Native (CPM 440V), plain. Great tool

Ive got bout four or five and all but one have been sent back for repairs, the company stands behind its warranty. the knife is a great knife and use to be an incredible deal when most of that stuff was around $35,,,since people like me have been sending them back after we do something stupid with them...oh like using one to prop open a door(very dumb move, its almost embarrasing to admit too, but Ive done dummer..lol...), and they have been replacing the prices have really gone up .....but its a fine knife and the serated delica is my favorite...fubsy.

I have an old AUS-8 Delica with permanent clip. It gets an edge and keeps it fairly well, has good lock strength, and the light weight weight makes it very easy to carry.

Cool, Will. Missy got me a frog.

I have a plain old Native (couldn't afford the Bladeforums version like DC, wish now I'd bought it) but I haven't carried it since the first week I had it. Once Melissa tried it, it immediately became hers and has been ever since. She loves it.

The Spydie Native is one of my favorites, followed by the Endura and the Military.

Spyderco rocks...

I usually have an Endura as well, but I recently got a weird looking Jot Singh Khalsa which I carry on me everywhere as well. :) Can't go wrong with the quality or price, not to mention that Sal Glessar is a great guy as well.

If Spyderco knives are sharper out of the box than my Cold Steel Voyager was, then they ought to be illegal! ;)

I guess I need to take a look at getting myself one of those little gems. Does Cheaper Than Dirt carry them?

Bob, I wouldn't be surprised if it's MUCH sharper. I like Cold Steel myself, but Spyderco's sharpness is a different level. Knife knuts call it "scary sharp." Cold Steel, like Benchmade, emphasizes thicker blade designs most of the time, I think. It's impossible to make blades with that geometry as sharp as you can make a Spydie. OTOH, you can use a Cold Steel as a prybar for longer than you can with a Spydie. And Spydie doesn't make assault shovels or double-headed battle-axes. :D

Gwinny,

I think one of my coworkers would argue about my knife's edge. :)

I warned him up front when he asked me to borrow it that I could shave with it if I needed to. He came back later with three Band-aids on. Said he "brushed it against his skin". I would have felt sorry for him, but....I HAD warned him.

How much do Spyderco's knives run, and do they have a web page?

Yeah, some people just don't understand the universal truth that knives cut things and your flesh is a thing! Nothing funnier than watching somebody say "Yeah, well, we'll just see how sharp it is, won't w . . ." just as the blood starts dripping onto the floor because he tested a knife by seeing if it would cut his thumb. Who came up with that genius idea anyway? You almost want to ask 'em if it was worth it . . .

I can't believe noone has mentioned the best spiderco of all, the Copilot. It fits perfectly in the watch pocket of my jeans. I goes everywhere, including airplanes...

Good point, Gino. I may have a little problem convincing the people at the gate that my Tanto point Voyager is really just a "pocket knife".

My coworker now refers to it as "The Death Blade". He's 20; he'll learn. I don't think he was testing it out on his skin or anything, it's just that he wasn't being quite careful enough. I'm sure a Spyderco would have done a similar number on him. Funny thing, though: he hasn't asked to borrow it since....

Spyderco Delica, fully serrated, is my daily back pocket knife. It kinda freaks people out at the office when I whip it out to open a box. Oh, well. ;)

I just bought a Benchmade at Galyans because I didn't think my Spyderco would pass muster going through airport security, given the serrated edge (per what I've read here and on Bladeforum), and they didn't have an appropriate non-serrated Spyderco. The Benchmade is also very well constructed, and doesn't have the "menacing" serrated edge :(

I ordered my Spyderco Delecia from Cabellas. But I noticed that in their latest catalog they no longer show the Spyderco knives. Anyone know why?

You arent kidding about sharp, with in the last couple of months I was trimmming a piece of plastic and too get to the point, the blade slipped through a soft spot in the plastic and did a nice neat little snap cut on my lower calf, 1/4" wide and 2" long, absolutely beautiful, cept it hit a minor artery that was spraying like a fountain every time my heart would pump and blood was everwhere.....great knife, still am carrying that one.... and paying of the emergency svc's....lol....the price of another gun,,durn it...fubsy.
