Sprringfield loaded price

Thats the top end - roughly.
I've seen them as low as $550 - so while that aint too bad, you can do better.

I bought my SA "Loaded" for $520 NIB. Strongly recommend that you not do the same. While it was a good price, I feel that you are much better off buying an Auto Ordinance Milspec or a SA milspec for around $425 NIB.

Basically, the "loaded" guns come with a lot of parts that you just don't need. I have super pretty rosewood grip panels, but black sights that I'll have to replace. I don't have a magwell (which might not be necessary, but..).

I can't comment on the fitting of the parts that I do have, but I can say that for a $100 difference, I would think seriously consider the milspec and add on when I knew for sure what I wanted and needed. You're going to do it anyway, so why pay for the unnecessary right out of the gate?

Also, don't go by the prices on the SA website. These are intentionally high to not compete with their dealers who can get them far cheaper.

When Reason Fails.....

Auto Ordinance makes a fine Thompson - but those 1911s they make are POS. I have examined many models and unless your buying a top of the line AO - its just NASTY.
I saw one "Stainless" that had a finish that reminds me of the Orange Peel of a bad paint job. NASTY. Bead Blasted? More like sand casted. Nasty and Ugly.
The innards were even worse and they proved to me that a 1911 trigger can be made so bad its a tragedy.

The 1911A1 LOADED model SA makes may have some rough spots - like "sharp" edges... but at least its a quality arm thats very well made.
And those parts you dont need - are parts you'ld end up buying with in a year anyway.
:D

I paid $585 for my loaded Springfield 1911 parkerized new in the box with all the goodies and coupons.

I've gotta disagree with Vaughan. I've handled the MilSpec Springfield since I've bought mine and wouldn't even consider a MilSpec now. I don't like the MilSpec grip safety, the main spring housing, the trigger, or the grips. Gimme the 'loaded' for a fifty dollar difference.

As for the sights, I did put a touch of white liquid paper on my front one. I gotta tell ya', those Novaks are deadly. The low profiles don't catch on anything and I can shoot smaller groups with this weapon than any other centerfire automatic I've shot.

In my mind, the Springfield "loaded" in a .45 and the CZ-75 in a 9mm are the two Best Buys in pistols today.

There is a guy in McKinney,Texas who advertises regularly in the GUN LIST. His name is David Avery and he carries several major pistol makes. Recent prices are $539 for a (Springfield) blue 1911A1 Loaded and $579 for a 1911A1 stainless Loaded. His tel.# is 972 562-4416.
A friend of mine purchased both a Glock and Kimber .45 from him through a local FFL with no problems. BTW, when/if you call one of his dental office staff will answer. Good luck to you in your search.

I purchased a parkerized loaded Springfield gov't earlier in the year for $500, NIB. (At the Tanner gun show in Denver.) The stainless models where somewhere between $575 and $600, depending on the dealer, IIRC.
