I would like to improve the trigger and over all performance of my Beretta 92fs. Have any of you tried spring kits,or just the trigger spring? or what else would you do to one that is simple to do and helps the gun out. Thanks Jeff

Have to second the Langdon action jobs. Had both my Elite's done. What a difference, especially the Speedbump Trigger Stop. Well worth the cost.

Years ago an article by somebody in American Handgunner had a statement by on of the writers that a SEAL had showed him that by replacing the Beretta 92F mainspring with a 1911 mainspring it lightened both the double and single action trigger. I tried it and it really does work. Give it a shot. You can pick up a 1911 mainspring cheap. I'll say it again, it really works.

You might want to check out Trapper Gun INC spring kits for BERETTA & TAURUS. Here's a brief description.

"Fits Beretta & Taurus 9mm full size autos. Contains X.P. recoil spring, R.P. hammer & sear spring. Reduces trigger pull up to 45%, increases slide power 15%."

While I have never used their kits with Beretta pistols I have used them with SIG Sauer and HK pistols and have found them to work as advertised. Here’s a link to one of many retailers: http://www.apwcogan.com/trapper.htm if you need more retailers just do a search on Google for “Trapper Gun”. Hope this helps

Not to state the obvious, but why not just get a new spring from BUSA? The 92D main spring is a little lighter than the 92FS one, enough to make the DA pull smoother, it costs $3-$4 including shipping, and takes about 5 minutes to replace.

That said, I had the opportunity to shoot a couple of Berettas with LTT action jobs this past weekend. I'd say the improvement was surprising. Ernest does great work.

The "D" mainspring will reduce the DA trigger pull by about 30%. To get a smooth trigger you need to take the sear and hammer out and polish the contact surfaces. Can be done in about 15 minutes by somebody who knows how. The "speed bump" trigger has a bump on it that reduces over travel past the break point of the stock trigger.
