Springfield XDS 45acp 3.3 Your thoughts?

I have checked out this gun at my local gun shop.
It really appeals to me.

They rent it and I will give it a try soon.

I live in a subtropical climate and a t-shirt and shorts is pretty common clothing for much of the year.

Is this gun compact enough for pocket carry in shorts?
Would it conceal well in an IWB holster with these light clothes?

Do you consider this to be a quality gun?

Just curious what your experience has been if you own this gun.

Great gun. I highly recommend renting it for 100 rounds or so...I think you would find the recoil much higher than the 9mm.

Pocket carry in my shorts would be hard. Yours?

I think it would be great in a Comptac Spartan or similar IWB.

I consider it to be a very high quality gun and I find they did not make compromises on key features like reliability, safety or sights.

I own the XDS 9 3.3.

I've owned one since June. Iwb and ankle carry in looser fitting pants works for me however it is a no go in my pockets. I really wanted to force it into this role but ended up buying an lcp shortly thereafter.

The 45 does offer up some recoil, however upon adding some grip tape so the little thing wouldn't wiggle free, I have no problems firing.

I'm not afraid of a little recoil.

I have smaller hands but the gun seemed to fit my hand well when
I checked it out.

I don't have any experience applying Talon Grips as advocated by Hickok 45.
It seems to take a little skill from watching his videos.
I wonder if I can pay my local gun shop to apply it so the results
look professional.

Thanks for clarifying that this gun might not be suitable for pocket carry in most shorts. I don't wear cargo pocket shorts so this is a good tip.

I'm a big fan of High Noon IWB holsters.
Anyone using these with this gun?

A little too big for pocket carry especially when in a pocket holster. Also keep in mind you will be loading some heavy cartridges in it so the weight will go up more than 9 mm.Great IWB. I use an Urban Carry holster which is very comfortable with shorts or light summer clothing. I live in Florida and no corrosion issues so far. Kick isn't bad at all for a 45 ACP.

I have had a XD mod 2 in .45ACP for a couple of months; I like it well. It is easy to shoot, accurate, reliable and has a good trigger. It may be a little blocky and heavy for edc but it's a super nice pistola IMO.

I purchased one this summer. Mainly because I wanted to shift to a single stack mag set up for carry comfort. Figured if I am going single stack might as well go big.
They had a free mag deal going too so that did not hurt.

I carry IWB and it has not disappointed me at all. Very comfortable to carry, I can manage the recoil.( it is actually very accurate) It is my main and possibly my permanent carry piece. So you can mark me down as a happy customer.

My BIL has a 3.3 XDS in 45 and I have shot it quite a bit, I like it - decent ergonomics, reliable, and a pretty good trigger.

Its too big for pocket carry but he does well putting the pocket holster in an inside jacket pocket.

I own an XDs .45acp and I love it. In my inside the waist band holster it seems to almost disappear. Even before mine went back for the recall I had no issues with it at all. I can hit what I am shooting at with it and frankly I don't find the recoil any harsher than my 1911.

I am considering buying a full size XD because I like the XDs so much. Possibly for a night stand gun or for open carry.

I have a 9mm and it conceals very nicely IWB under just a t-shirt, but I have no problem concealing a G19 the same. It's too big for pocket carry IMO. Well made gun.

The XDS 45 has been my EDC for the last couple of years, I like it so much I just bought a 2nd one this march. About 2000 rounds between the two of them without one issue, that includes a lot of light 200gr lswc reloads. I shoot a lot so recoil doesn`t seem all that much to me. Easy to carry, accurate and reliable. Yep, I think it is a great gun.

I won one from Springfield in September. So far so good. It's very accurate for such a small gun. I like it so much it's going to replace my kahr cm9 as my carry gun.

Don't put it in terms of fear.

Take it to a range with steel targets, where the audible results will be obvious, and shoot it against a couple of people with 9MM versions You will likely be as surprised as i was when I shot a .45 STI in the company .of a number of people shooting 9MMs.

Also you will likely find the 4 inch much easier to shoot quickly. Mine conceals exceptionally well.

Don't overlook the difference in magazine capacity.
