Springfield XD

Does anyone here have any experience with the Springfield XD pistol? I was looking at one yesterday and it looks like a great alternative to the Glock. I was wanting to get a .45 but these are only offered in 9mm, .40, and .357 Sig. Other than availability and cost of the .357 which would y'all prefer as a CCW cartridge, the .40 or .357 Sig? Thanks in advance for the input , and greetings to all from here in the swamp.
