A few months ago, I bought an Armory Kote Springfield Loaded TRP (http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-pstl-1911-trp.shtml). Although I have been extremely pleased with its reliability, accuracy, and performance as well as with its quality, fit and finish in a few brief (<200 round) sessions, this weekend I fired 1000+ rounds from it during two extended practices.
Observations follow:
1) Faultless reliability, with zero jams, failures to feed, etc.
2) Fires everything, including typical target practice/plinking ammo such as Fiocchi, S&B, Federal American Eagle, and Winchester white box (all 230 grain FMJs).
3) Great accuracy, with consistent three-inch groups at 60 feet (this certainly is "nothing" for some of you, but is about as good as my old eyes can muster).
4) Superior quality, with the TRP's tightness, fit, Armory Kote finish, precision machining, and so forth simply flawless.
5) Excellent night sights.
In sum, this is a superb autoloader. I have not yet acquired a Baer, Wilson or other high-end, custom 1911A1; however, I really don't see how they could be much better than this Springfield TPR.
Incidentally, eight round Wilson magazines were used throughout.
