Springfield trapdoor rifling

I recently purchased a model 1888 springfield trapdoor that was made in 1892. The rifle is in good condition except the rifling is almost completely gone near the muzzle. I think this due to cleaning rod abrasion. The wood is very good and there is about 50% of the bluing present. My question is if this rifling issue will affect shootability and if there is a way to correct it if it is a big problem

If it is safe to shoot, a few rounds won't damage it. If you handload, a few light-loaded rounds would be even better. Lack of rifling won't effect anything except perhaps accuracy.
