I have a TRP Operator .45. Other than a gritty trigger at the break ( since fixed ). It has been a super shooter. Have replaced the hokey guide rod with a Dawson tool less rod. The gun is amazing and has never hiccupped.
My house gun is a Springfield MC Operator, it comes two-tone, Pachmayr grips, GI guide rod, barrel bushing. Great gun, functions perfectly, no issues. I generally don't like 1911s with rail but for house duty I put a Streamlight TLR-1 on it.
That's the one. I am almost entirely a BHP guy for full-size carry, and PPK for concealed carry - so the whole 1911 platform is new to me, believe it or not, with over 20 years of shooting under my belt.
I often carry a full size 1911 but not one with a rail, too bulky, adds unnecessary weight, that's why my MCO is strictly a house gun. It's a great shooting piece, just not for carry for me.
Shot it at the range today - pretty dang accurate, and a hoot to shoot, but heavy. I pretty much have put it in the "range toy and HD gun" category for me.
