I was going to install a new mainspring and mainspring cap to remove this system. I am curious as to if I will notice a better trigger pull by going from the 28# mainspring used in this system, to a stock 23# one.
There is also some confusion as to whether the GI gun uses a 14# or a 16# recoil spring. I was planning on keeping the gun set up as JMB intended as this is my back-up carry rig. However, I can not seem to find a 16# spring, but Wilson combat does supply a 17# one. I thought by going less on the mainspring anyways this would probably even things out.
Does anyone know (military spec sheet perhaps) what the proper length of the recoil spring should be? I believe the military used to measure them to check when they needed replacement.
