I saw one of these,and fondled it yesterday....I was thinking 40cal...anybody gotone,or heard about it.....possibly a carry gun,it seems light w/ 4in. barrel..............:)

I saw the 40 as a hs2000 before SA bought it up and really like it. As much as I want one, I don't want to pay more money to SA for the same weapon. I'm sure I'll break down eventually especially if they bring forward a model in 45acp.

Those who do own speak highly of accuracy, fit/finish and dependability.

Most who speak highly of

this POS either own one and are too embarrassed to admit they made a mistake, or are endorsing the weapon in the hope of landing a position with Springfield after they retire from whatever they are currently doing.:barf:

Never owned a Yugo and

knew it was a POS from day one...fired one at the range; ~250 rounds, and lost count how many FTF, FTF, FTE, ad nauseum...like I said, POS:barf:

Funny, my HS2000 worked just fine without any stoppages of any kind, and the XD in .40 I got to test over Thanksgiving worked like a top as well. Every HS2000 owner I know has been very pleased with the gun's performance.

Maybe you were limp-wristing that gun? The symptoms you describe could be just that.

Dang Kevinch....isn't that

the photo of the XD blowing up in the SA Reps hand when he was trying to extoll its virtues to hardcore 1911 owners???:D :D

I got the HS2000 in 9mm, and have been very pleased with it. Details are scarce about the SA deal, but I heard the IM Metals (the Croatian co.) was not happy with HS America's promotion of the HS200. With the SA name on the XD, I expect them to sell very well, although the price has gone through the roof. My dealer has them for around $460. I bought my HS last year with my "W tax rebate" for $230!

I've learned to ignore the whining of the Glock freaks and 1911 babies because they're just bitter that they got raped when they bought theirs at a very inflated price for a gun either comparable or even inferior to the HS/XD.

Buy one. Only the name on the frame has changed. It is an excellent weapon, even for the higher price.

Tony,
As others have said, it's been around in the form of the HS2000 for some time now. There are over 600 satisfied owners on HS2000 & SA/XD Talk.

I've owned the 9mm for close to a year now, and it's one of my favorite pistols. Easy to shoot, low recoil, accurate and reliable. There where a very limited number of pistols that had problems extracting a couple brands of cheap ammo, but most of the pistols have been 100% reliable. Just to be on the safe side, it looks like Springfield had the extractors beefed up on the XD models.

Keep in mind that there are some very closed minded individuals that attack this pistol with a passion. Don't know why they express such a venomous hatred, unless they feel that the XD is a viable threat to their favorite god autos.

I don't shoot Glocks very well, and don't like the grip angle one bit, but I don't come on these boards and call Glocks a POS. I guess these folk are extremely insecure in their firearm choices, and need everyone else to reaffirm their decisions. A great polymer pistol in the $400 range is a threat to their ego. Oh, well, just take their criticism with a grain of salt.

If you shoot the XD, I think you will find out that it really is a great pistol. Take care and good luck.
