Well so much for answering my own question about owning just sig's well went to the Springfield day Saturday at my gun range got a ticket to win a free gun well I won a xd9 I do not know anything about the gun can anyone tell me about it. Is it a keeper info needed thank you I did not shot it yet

Good guns. As far as being a keeper, your the only one that can answer that. Why not put some rounds through it and decide if its a keeper?

Niceee! I don't think I ever won anything like that before.
There are a lot of Springfirld XD fans out there and plenty of aftermarket accessories available.

I had a Subcompact 9 as a self defense weapon before M&P 9 hit the market. IMHO, it is as accurate as Glock out of the box and the grip design was more user friendly.
I did ran into some FTF/FTE issues during the first 200 rounds. All and all, it's a good system, really your call whether it's a keeper or not.:)

Is it a keeper?

As another stated, this question can only be answered by you.

The XD series of handguns are high quality combat handguns similar to Glock, S&W M&P, etc., etc. I own several XD variants and each of them are excellent handguns. My XDs 9mm is my daily carry, my XDm 5.25 is my competition pistol. All are excellent, dependable, and accurate firearms.

Congratulations in your win and good luck in deciding if this firearm is right for your collection.

Lucky you. The only thing I ever won was the draft lottery in 1971. If you decide it's not a keeper let me know....I'll take it.

Worth about $400-$450, depending on package.

Good gun. IMHO&YMMV. They tend to be heavy, for their size. Some folks don't care for them. Try it, see what you think.

XD9 SC

I won an XD9 SC on my first NRA fundraiser and it is my carry weapon. I have magazine extenders on all of the mags and it feels better. It conceals very well and even though it doesn't have night sights I am very accurate with it. It feels wonderful in my hand. Never any problems with it. I purchased two $20 half playing cards and the second item won was my 2 clubs. It only cost me $40 plus the dinner ticket, what a bargain.

XDs are excellent guns in every way ... I recently retired my Springer 1911 in favor of an XDm-9 for nightstand duty ... better than twice the capacity and --the main reason -- a rail to mount a laser on, since I decided not to count on my aging eyes and night sights for home defense duty. I also have an XDs-45 that I belt carry when it cools off enough to wear a cover shirt or jacket. I sold off an XD-40 when I decided to cut down on rounds I had to store. All three were flawless from day one, no failures of any kind. And free!! A perfect combination ... shoot and enjoy ...

I really love my XD 9mm. It is probably one of the most reliable guns I own. I put it up there with Glocks and M&P's in terms of reliability. They are also pretty customizable and have a lot of potential. If you like it, keep it and shoot it.
