Springfield Armory Scope

I am wondering how a model GE5099 scope with rangefinder and illuminated reticle will work with my 7mm Remington Magnum rifle? Is this a good scope? What are its strong points and weaknesses. Any help will be greatly appreciated. What kind of rangefinding system is used?

Can't say about that SPECIFIC scope, but I did own a SA Gen II Govt model.

The glass and overall scope does not compare to any leupold I've ever looked through.

Depending on the cost, I'd go Leupold (or better).

Good glass is never a regretted decision.

Thank You LevelHead for your input. I'll certainly take that into consideration. My other choice was going to be a Leupold with lighted reticle. You helped me to make up my mind. Thanks again!

Also...

I shoot a 7mm Rem Mag - Sake Synth Stainless - I love it. It's funny how many people are afraid to shoot it. :)

I'm putting a Leupold Mark IV with Mildot reticle on mine. Get the MilDot master if you don't want to hurt your brain with the mildots. mildotmaster.com I believe.

I'm thinking I'm going to make a psuedo-sniper rifle next (though my Sako could probably come close), and I think I'm going to save my pennies and go US Optics. Pricey, but the best hands down.

I was ready to order a SA scope, and asked the dealer how many had come back. He was honest and told me these were his last two and they were dropping them from the line cause so many had come back. Go Leopuld. Or Burris. I've had good luck with Burris scopes also.
