Springfield Armory 1911 EMP 4” Lightweight Champion™ 9mm?

What is the country of manufacture for the Springfield Armory 1911 EMP 4” Lightweight Champion 9mm? Looks like a darn nice 1911.

I think you are conflating two different models. The Champion is a model built (as far as I know) on a "standard" 1911 receiver. The EMP is SA's shortened model, which compared to a "standard" 1911 has a vertical slice about an eighth of an inch wide taken out through the magazine well portion of the frame.

EMP 4" Champion is a very new addition to the Springfield stable. Read somewhere that it's USA made but couldn't determine if frame was from Brazil. Need to do more search.

Had one in my hands last week and I sure do like it. May go back and look again. Not good! :D

The new EMP4 does have Champion in the name.

The frames have not been made in Brazil for several years. All 1911 frames have been made in the USA for several years.

If the frame was made in Brazil, it would have been clearly marked.

Other than that fact that it is not a Kimber, and grip circumference, how is this different than Kimber's Aegis Pro? Not trying to stir the pot (much) but the reviews I've seen make is seem like this is the only 4" bull barrel 1911 on the market?

I didn't know that.
Any idea who actually manufactures them for Springfield?
Although mine is Brazilian and is an excellent example.
Couldn't want a better off the shelf one.

Claim buster , how's that new Springfield ? Really really interested in one but I haven't had the chance to check one out.

Bought one today

Just picked one up and the 1st thing you see is a trigger tag claiming that it is indeed made in America. Can't wait to shoot it. Feels really good. Nice and smooth slide to frame fit. Like buttah!
