Springfield 1911 trigger work

I am intersted in having some trigger work done on my Springfield Mil Spec. I am hoping there is a local gunsmith that is capable of doing a quality job. If any of you in or familiar with Central Oregon could help me out, I would appreciate it. If not, what are my other options.

I've run into the same problem. Depending on where you shoot, you may run into somebody at your club\range that is very good with the 1911 platform.
This was what I did, since we have many bullseye shooters at my club and some of them are super 1911 mechanics. Quite a few do their own trigger work and such.
Maybe I'm just lucky. Just a thought. Maybe you can asked around your favorite shooting place and find a smith that comes recommended.

A trigger job on a 1911 style pistol isn't difficult. Just changing the springs will help.
However, polish(not files or stones) all the mating surfaces on the sear and hammer, polish the sides of the trigger where it runs in the frame and clip a 1/4 turn off the mainspring. You may need to take a bit more off the mainspring, but start with a 1/4 turn.
You may want to think about changing the sights too.

I am growing weary of packing a gun that I can't shoot as accurately as I would like. I am sure it is not the fault of the gun, but the fact remains that I am much more accurate with my other handguns. I would like to try a different trigger setup and perhaps different sights.
