So I picked up one of these and noticed the ejector is glued or loctite in that's it no pin. Did some research and I guess this is per fib request. I went ahead and ordered some loctite 640 just in case it comes loose. Anyone have a high round count one of these in 45acp? I guess it seems to work pretty well but I did are a couple complaints. This will be a carry/hd gun and people are saying if it doesn't loosen right away it will probably be okay. What say yee?

My understanding is that this is normal. Springfield 1911's are generally some of the more reliable models. I wouldn't worry about it one bit. If there is any issues, Springfield has some of the best customer service in the industry. They'll make it right if there's an issue, no problem.

Shoot the thing. :)

I've got a couple springers, one specifically is a SS A1. The SS A1 I have has around 2K rounds and no such issues with the ejector. YMMV.

Think about it -- where's the ejector going to go? Unless the fit of slide, frame and ejector is incredibly sloppy, the pin is redundant.

So my brand new 1911a1 stainless did not come with th3 ils mainspring housing which is good. Just curious as why.

I am really curious about this. It came from the factory like this. No ils MSH, its standard like I was going to convert it to so I'm stoked on that its just weird. I did are somewhere online that the marines and other law enforcement made an order for the 1911a1 from springfield without the ils and different trigger and a couple other things so I am wondering if i lucked out and got one of them.

I cant help you with an answer but I will say great! Congrats on a new addition and even better with out the lock.

For sure. I'm going from a rock island to a stainless Springer 1911 a1. It seems to have a standard MSH and standard weight mainspring with the standard spring cup and internals. Although it still has the 38 super firing pin..but it is steel not titanium. I believe I got really lucky and got a good one. Was unsure of the quality of the frams and slide but it appears there are serial numbers hand etched on inside of frame. Really nice snug slide to frame fit but with enough play for reliability. I don't plan on running +p ammo but was gonna maybe try a 17 lb recoil spring to keep the frame from getting battered. What do you all think about the recoils spring?
