Ok, I did the search thingy but got conflicting reports. Some say use nothing but Colt 9mm mags, some say use .38 Super mags. I guess that means both will work? Which is better? I need to make a purchase from Brownells soon.
I really like the McCormick 10 round .38 Super mags in my 9mm SA. Not a single jam so far but that's only at after about 500 rounds. Actually had more trouble from the 9mm mags that came with the pistol.
Hello. In my 9mm STI Trojan, I use MecGar 9mm magazines and have had no problems other than the slide stop not be activated on the last shot. That problem went away when I added Wolff +10% springs. Bought 5 and all are 100% now.
My SA 9mm came with two stainless MecGar 9 round mags. I ordered three more blued Mecgars and all five have worked perfectly for about 2K rounds now. I have toyed with the idea of getting some 10 round .38 super mags, but so far have decided not to mess with a good thing. I have a couple of buds with 1911 .38 S guns and I might try theirs sometime.
It does seem strange that they make 10 rd. .38 S mags and only 9 rd. 9mm mags.
