Spreadsheet to Track Your Firearms Use

I have been working on a Firearms Shooting Spreadsheet to track the ammo fired through and FTF/FTE issues that may arise in my weapons. It is also a great way to track the total weapons usage for my guns.

It is a work in progress, and suggestions for improvements are appreciated. You may download and use it if you like. I am attaching it here in both xls and xlsx format through a zip file. The first tab in the spreadsheet has a few entries in it in order for you to see how the spreadsheet calculates.

There are also some sample comments inserted to record type of ammo used. I don't have a great way of recording ammo used, so doing it with the comments box seems to work. If you mouse over the ammo count for September 15th, for example, you'll see there is a note for Remington Golden Saber HPJ 124 Grain BJHP ammo being used.

I am providing a link to the files through another forum, as this one won't let me upload zip files. Scroll down to the second of my posts with the file, as the first one was updated. The zip file contains the spreadsheet in both xls and xlsx format. The spreadsheet has a few entries in it in order for you to see how the spreadsheet calculates.

Here is the link:

Hope it helps someone!!!

Let me know if you like it.

Good golly Miss Molly!

You obviously put a lot of effort into it and it must work for you, but my eyes hurt just looking at it. IMHO, it's a huge waste of both screen real estate and file size to create an entire calendar for each firearm, since most of every worksheet is going to full of blank cells and you'll have to continually expand the worksheets to add years to the calendar.

I also track my shooting with Excel, and I also have one worksheet for each firearm. But I don't use a calendar -- I just add a new line for each range visit with that firearm. I track date, ammo type(s) fired, magazine(s) used, malfunctions per magazine, rounds fired per magazine, per day, and total for each firearm.

Nothing fancy, it just suits my needs.

Looks like this:

I like that as well. I struggled with how to do it, and at the time the calendar seemed a good way to go. I like yours though. Nice!:)

In the real World I see no point.

TBS, I like data, it's cool.
