Spotting scopes

Spotting scopes, How strong would a spotting scope have to be for the average person to see a .30 cal bullet hole in a paper target at 100 yards. Im gettin tired of walking back and forth , someone with expertise in this or just and informed opinion would be greatly appreciated.... LOUD
 
Try the visible impact targets, they can be seen with a regular scope. A bit more expensive, but worth it.

As far as spotting scopes at 100yds, pretty much anything out there or binoculars will do the job at that distance.
 
Either try the impact targets as recommended, or try a small target on a lighter background. I can see impacts easily at 200 yards with my 10x scope on white targets. Black impacts on a black target are pretty hard to see anyway.
 
If you don't mind shooting on targets other than those with a black bullseye 10X is plenty. I've used binoculars & they've worked fine. Mainly you need sharpness not magnification. Blurry 32X is worse than sharp 15X:)
 
If you use a thick, brightly colored foam target, even .22 holes can be easily seen at 100 yds with 8 power binoculars.
Being cheap, I use the foam that pork chops and chicken are packed with, from the grocery, especially the bright yellow ones.
For bigger targets, get poster sized foam boards, from the office supply or dollar stores.
Paste your favorite target face on these and el cheapo, easy to see holes in targets.
 
10x50 set of binoculars and some dirty bird targets and you're good to go at 100 to 300 yards and further depending on your eye sight.
