Spotting Scope Recommendation

Anyone have a spotting scope recommendation? It's mostly for the bench at 100 to 300 yards (Savage 10FP w/Leupold 3.5-10 M1). So far the Bausch and Lomb Elite has been recommended.

B&L Discoverer is an excellent scope for the price (199-215).I've used it right next to Kowa's and Swarzofski.

I've had a couple of these el cheapo 20X-60X K-Mart telescopes. They work okay up to around 40X, but are a bit fuzzy above that. I have more money in a high-quality camera tripod for it. :)

Another vote for the KOWA

I've been through quite a few spotting scopes, progressively working my way up to better quality. After recently getting into long range competition matches (tactical division) and seeing that over 90% of the shooters were using Kowa spotting scopes, I figured there must be something about them. Did much talking with some of the senior shooters and they recommended that I get the TS-612 with 25X LER eye piece. This set up along with a creedmoor tripod would be ideal for prone shooting. They were right! Great scope indeed!

Celestron makes a number of spotting scopes, the most common being the C90. I have a C5 on my want list. The FBI uses C8's, but they are non-standard items and are built to order.
