I have a Spike's Tactical .22 upper for my AR-15 SBR, which I've had for the last 4 years or so and have shot the ever-living crap out of (40-50k rounds). It's a great little upper and is remarkably accurate & reliable.

This weekend while blazing away with it, a spring broke on the bolt, causing it to not return to battery. I called up Spike's and now have a new spring and retainer en-route.

If you're looking for AR-15 stuff, I couldn't recommend Spike's more. I've beaten the hell out of their gear and when it finally breaks, they stand behind it, no questions asked.

Thanks for the great review! I was looking for a .22 upper and was really only looking at tactical solutions and CMMG. I'll definitely Be looking at spikes as well now.

I own a Spikes M4LE (5.56mm) and their lifetime warranty and great reputation for CS helped seal the deal.

Not that I've needed it. It has been 100% from day one. Spikes makes a great product. I would easily put them on the same level of quality as Colt, BCM, and Daniel Defense.

I couldn't recommend either one of those manufacturers more than the other. Also checkout M1S as I've had two of their .22LR upper and they work rather nicely.

I've got a threaded Tactical Solutions .22 kit for my 1911, Ruger 22/45 and Glock 17. The 1911 kit I've had for about 5 years and can't count the number of rounds I've fired through it with and without a suppressor and it's absurdly accurate (even with crappy bulk ammo). Same thing with the Ruger. I had a screw break in the Glock kit after about 1000 rounds and they had a new one out to me ASAP, free of charge. Tactical Solutions stuff isn't cheap, but it's well worth the $$$ if you're going to be shooting it a lot. I shoot several hundred rounds a week through them and couldn't be more pleased.

I also had a 14.5 inch CMMG upper in 5.56 and it was a great, accurate upper. My buddy has their .22 kit for his AR and I like it. Best of all, if you order it from their website you can get it with an operational forward assist (very nice to have) and a bolt hold-open feature. The only problem with CMMG is they don't offer a SBR length .22 kit.
