Spencer made carbines and muskets from 1860 until 1869, when the company was sold to Winchester. Approximately 200,000 total weapons were made during that period. During the Civil War, approximately 92,000 Spencer repeating rifles were made for the US Navy and Army.

Prices run from about $1,200 to $3,000, with a fair specimen bringing about $1,500.
