which one is prefered more for home defense for my rem 870 marine magnum? also what are some reccommendations for lights? thanks

While <<<NOT>>> a common occurance, I have seen shells come out of a speed stock at a rather (ahem) inopportune moment. I love the side-saddle so much that I put one on our tail-gunner's Benelli. Just preference.....

I don't CARE about pretty....I just want dangerous.

I would go with the sidesaddle, no need to take the gun off your shoulder when mounted. you can also orient slugs one way (up/down) and buckshot the other for selectino without taking one's eyes off the threat. Who says you can't do both? you could carry your immediate reload in the sidesaddle and some extras in the stock for when times get REALLY tough

Sidesaddle. I have heard that the Speedfeed stocks, while a nice idea, don't work all that well in the field. The sidesaddle is a good (and economical, around $20) solution to the problem of convenient carry of ammunition.

Surefire is the way to go with shotgun weapon mounted lights. Recommend getting one with the parallel mounted switch ("F" suffix) for defensive uses. Places to buy include Lagger Pro (http://www.lagger-pro.com), Brightguy (http://www.brightguy.com), Botach Tactical (http://www.botachtactical.com) and Maricopa Tactical (http://www.maricopatactical.com).
