Speed loaders or Speed strips?

I have carried Speed loaders with my CCW's. Lately I have heard about Speed strips...they lay flat in your pocket much like a single stack mag for thickness....what are the other advantages? Are they as fast as Speed loaders? Thank you for your replies.
Shoot well

Speed strips are not as fast as speed loaders, since you load the cartridges into the cylinder two at a time. On the other hand, they are much flatter than speedloaders, and they're definitely better (and faster) than dump pouches or loose rounds.

I usually carry one speedloader next to the gun in a Bianchi low profile speedloader pouch, and then one or two speed strips in the pockets of my jeans. A loaded speed strip fits the watch pocket of most jeans pretty well.

I find that even in my bumbling hands the speedloader is miles ahead in speed. I have some speed strips too.....they carry in a pocket real well. I cant really think of any real benefit to speedstrips over speed loaders than that. I carry my 66 with a two speedloader pouch. I do keep 2 speedstrips in my glove box too. They dont roll around, papers dont get stuck in between rounds, and they are quiet over bumps. So I can think of 2 benefits. I find that speedloaders fit in my pockets just fine. And though I have yet to test it...they may be faster for a tac reload. On my carry belt is a double speedloader pouch and a 6 cartridge fold up belt slide. I carry the belt slide for tac reloads. My old man showed me an excellent method for a tac reload with a wheelgun years ago....and with the belt slide it works great....no bumbled rounds on the ground....and no dropped loaders. YMMV

I use both to stay current.

Speedloaders are faster, but bulkier.

Speed strips are slower, but flatter and less conspicuous.

If you carry speed strips, make sure you practice reloading with them. They'll not be as fast as a speedloader, but you can get pretty quick with them and they're better than loose rounds in your pocket covered with lint and pocket goo.

Agree with above comments re speedloaders.

DON'T leave em in the glove compartment unless you want to play guessin games with your ammunition.

For uniform wear or for open carry, go speedloaders. For concealed carry and where it's hard to conceal, go speedstrip. While speedloaders are faster, speedstrips are easier to conceal (but as mentioned above, slower to load with).

my experience is like everyone elses. speed loaders lots faster. speed strips easier to carry and better for partial reloads/topping off.

the best place to carry a speedloader is next to the gun as you are already budging from the cylinder on that side. the most low profile carrier is the ones that carry the loader atop and straddling the belt...mine were made by rogers (many moons ago)
