Speed Goat tags are here!

My wife and I just got our antelope tags in the mail. Now the only question is do I use my trusty '06, or do I handicap myself and try for it with my .357 or my .50 BP.
Though it is now my daughters gun, perhaps I will break out the "Bob".

Decisions, decisions. I really think a photo of a handgunned goat would be nice...we'll see what mood I'm in come October.

All depends on the distances you'll be shooting.......A friend bow hunts using a big cloth to draw them into range; I prefer a rifle that can reach out at least 300 yards. Fun to hunt, fun to eat if they weren't running full out when shot.

I've taken them within the effective range of all of those weapons. My daughter shot a nice buck goat four years ago with that same .257 at a measured 535 yards. What I really meant was, "what sounds fun this year".

That old 722 has snuffed out a pile of them in the last 53 years. It's just about the ideal caliber for it too.

I think I'll use my GP until my wife fills her tag, then break it out.
