Spectacular Gunshow!

If you are anywhere near Shipshewana, IN, get over there!

Saw trapdoors, Krags, swede mausers, a ljungman, a FN49, k31s, and more for very reasonable prices (and I'm talking prehaggle tag prices!). GI M1 carbines and piles of Garands for hardly any more than CMP prices. A sweet S&W .38-44 Heavy Duty marked at $500. Many obscure eurohandguns, an incredible assortment of old Winchester leverguns, SAAs, just about every maker and variation of Enfield, and the ammo...

Oh holy mustard, the ammo! Piles of obscure stuff! Everything from 8mm Lebel to .41 Colt!

But I only had $100 to spend. I don't know how I maintained my composure, I was spazzing out every other table, cursing my car insurance company for depleting my disposable income at such an unjust time. I began to consider the relative value of guns and car insurance, but stupid logic and legal requirements won the day... No newold guns for me. :(

Hopefully you have a little more disposable income this time around. Hubby and I are going to one at the Atlanta Motor Speedway tommorrow. The tax return just came in so... we will try not to get too crazy though. I hope!

It was great again, although the jerkyguy was out of maple-duck sticks and there were not quite as many well-priced milsurps.:)

good to know. I will be going this spring for a road trip to shipshawana and now now to look out for the gun shows.

never been, but been told that not only guns, but they have acres of everything. a true market like in the old days or that they have over in europe.

can 't wait.

I must be odd, I still like gun shows. I enjoy going to the O.G.C.A. shows looking and pawing all the goodies. Heck I even buy every once in a while.

Next time you go to the gun show at Shipshewana, run a little west to Middlebury and eat at Das Dutchman Essenhaus. My favorite place in the area.
