SpecOps + Vang Comp Safety on an 870?

A quote off the packaging of a Knoxx SpecOps stock for the 870.

"WARNING: Remington 870 SpecOps Stocks CAN NOT be used with oversized or extended safeties. Oversized or extended safeties will cause product failure and possible injury."

Why is this an issue? I installed the SpecOps on my 870 that uses a Vang Comp Big Head safety and there is enough clearance. I do not think the stock would slam forward after recoil because the stock fits against the trigger guard at neutral. Because of the trigger guard fitting I also doubt the pistol grip would be able to rotate upwards. I have not test fired it yet.

Does the pistol grip somehow rotate downwards during recoil?

Does anyone use a Remington 870 SpecOps stock with the Vang Comp safety?

I'll hold off on test firing until I hear back from ya'll. Thanks.

Ok. I think I just answered my own question.

So the whole gun recoils back into the pistol grip, trigger and trigger guard both enter the pistil grip under recoil? The safety is momentarily buried in the pistol grip of the specops stock, thus the warning that oversized safeties will not work because they are too large for the tight clearances between the trigger guard and inside of the pistil grip?

Is that right?

You are correct. Please heed the warning and do not attempt to use a Vang safety with the Knoxx SpecOps stock.

It broke my heart....but I removed the Vang safety last night and reinstalled the stock J-lock safety...for now. I'll most likely buy an old stock safety and install it. Not that I ever use safeties on the home defense shotgun anyway. No kids.

I loved how the Vang safety disengaged whenever I wrapped my finger around the trigger :(

Thanks guys.
