Specialty & AP pistol ammo

I'm new to this forum, and I've recently joined a bunch of forums in my effort to reach out to anyone who is interested in what I am interested in: special-purpose gadgety pistol ammo. The weird stuff with odd tips; exploders, multiball, darts, cutters, slicer, dicers, expanders, plastics & teflon. I have an extensive history in collecting & researching and a large collection. I'm with the International Ammunition Association (IAA), and I have written a book on the topic of pistol-caliber armor piercing ammo which is my main point of collecting. Below are pics of the stuff I collect; a reference sheet I made for pistol-caliber AP ammo, a box of mixed caliber specialty ammo which I bought from a guy named Al William (this pic has floated around the net), a couple pics of my display at the last St Louis International Cartridge Show, and finally a box of 9mm specialty ammo. Please ask questions or let me know if you are interested in collecting this stuff as well.

radioflyer - I got started by being interested in premium defense loads that were readily available online, and then got into tracers, then frangibles, then decided I wanted the more "unobtainable" stuff like AP loads. So about 5 years ago I started looking online, making contacts, joining the International Ammunition Association, and ultimately going to cartridge shows. Aside from the occasional Gunbroker listing, cartridge shows are the best place to potentially find specimens of pistol-caliber AP ammo.

What are ya, a chess player? :) That is a nice lookin box o candy! I have some of them. I collect specialty cartridges also but not to the extent you have. I have THV, KTW, GAS, Kawser, Glaser, PPS and a few others.

I used to have a bigger supply but these are the type rounds that The Joker AND The Riddler both like and I sold most to them.

Trivia: What type round did The Joker use to shoot down the Batcopter in the movie? (Yes, the long barreled pistol)

Hint: You have it in the box! :)

Edward429451 - Well, the Joker has a model 15-3 revolver in .38spl, and in the comic version Batman says "an exploding shell!" after being hit, so I guess you mean the .38spl exploder. That's obviously some poetic license since those pistol "exploders" would bounce off the hull of just about anything, especially the Batwing.

Uncle Buck - the one which looks like it has honey in it is just one of Joe Zambone's many experimental variations, and this one had more resin in it than most, back when he was experimenting with shaping a round nose out of resin to help auto feeding.
