A few times I've heard mention of a Vickers Glock. Can someone tell me about it? Where to find one,and appx.cost? TIA :D

Looks like it's just a 17 with Vickers extended mag release, slide stop and magazine base plates.
And it seems to be FDE.

If you already have a glock you could do all the same mods for less than their asking for the survival edition.

I haven't tried the baseplates, but I do use the mag release and slide stop and like them quite a lot.
Their bigger than stock, but better shape than the OEM extended versions.

It's not "just a 17".........it's the 17 with the RTF2 grip texture. Glock discontinued the rough texture several years ago.

It's great for those with sweaty hands or that work in wet conditions.........but will chew up your shirt and spare tire quickly if carried IWB. I know an LEO who said he loved the RTF2 grip but hated how it wore out the sleeves on his uniform shirts.

What ever happened to using skate board anti-slip tape for grips?
Cheap, easy to remove and it works.

Talon Grips and others took the idea, made it prettier, and began charging a lot more money. ;)

Bicycle inner tube is the best grip modification, especially on Glocks or other similar guns. I've used the skateboard tape with great success on a 1911 where I could tuck a bit under the grips so it doesn't come off. Not so good on a plastic grip.

On a G-20 and an AR.

I used skateboard tape until I stippled my first Glock, and have never looked back. Stippling far out performs the tape, and not just for Glocks.

I have a couple of 17's with the "gills" and RTF2. They are the only ones I dont stipple. So far, its been "the best" Glock grip treatment Ive seen, and prefer it over all others. I carry IWB and they have never been an issue to me or my clothing.

The Vickers Glocks are different from any Glock ever made, and the only way to duplicate one is to buy a discontinued RTF2 model and switch the slide with one from a regular model.

The RTF2 models had awesome frames but I (and a lot of other people) hated the "fish gill" slide serrations because they aren't as grippy as the regular ones. I knew someone who once bought an RTF2 G19 and a regular Gen 3 G19 and switched slides to make a G19 that had an RTF2 frame with the regular slide.

So the Vickers models combine the great RTF2 frame with the better slide serrations of the regular Glock slide. The other accessories that come with it are just extras.

Is it a gen 4 frame with the rtf texture? Or did they just dust off the old molds?
I still think - if you already have a g17 it would be pretty simple to recreate. I don't have a problem with the gen4 texture anyway, but skateboard tape is cheap.

RTF2 was a Gen 3 only.
It was found to be too aggressive of a texture and Glock modified it for the Gen4 frames.
Gen 1 Glocks.....smooth textured frame.
Gen 2, 2.5 & 3 Glocks...........RTF (rough textured frame)
Some Gen 3 Glocks can be had with the RTF2, a more aggressive frame texture than the RTF.
Gen 4 Glocks......RTF3, a rough textured frame in between the RTF and RTF2.

Glock does not catalog pistols with RTF2, but will happily provide them on department orders and special runs.
