Special deal on M1As

A Springfield mount and a 6X fixed power Springfield scope? The price is good for what you are getting, but I would prefer to get a ARMS mount and a Leupold variable power scope. (It will cost a lot more than $100 though!)

If that's what you want or close to what you want it's a good deal.

Q-man, you're right! However, I know that there are a lot of guys out there who can't afford much scope and they want an M1A. This is great for them.

Get the mount and the scope and then turn around and sell them on E-bay and see if you can get more than you paid for either, double your money maybe triple perhaps?

From what I hear the two best mounts for the M1A are the ARMS and Brookefield types, those in the know have told me the Springfield mounts are shifty in quality and ability to retain a zero.

On the M1As I'd rather spend my money on the barrel by going "loaded."

Now there's an idea! I have the ARMS, and I'm very happy with it. I especially like the "return to zero" QD rings. You could conceivably buy the $99 SA get-up, sell it on Ebay for $300, and be much more on your way toward a really good set-up.

Oh yeah, if I had to do it again, I'd jsut get a NM right off, instead of going the route I went. I now have an NM, but I went "loaded" first, and then decided it wasn't everything I wanted.

A buddy and i went shooting yesterday--he had a laoded M1A and bought the 6X20 scope for about 500--i was dissappointed--the damn thing had lent or something flying around inside the tube that would stick to the lenses..not what i expected from a scope that some places sell for 700 or so....Dick
