Speaking of light loads . . .

Got a good deal on 95g 9mm jacketed soft points from Midway. Put nearly the minimum load of Unique behind them and . . . dang if they are too light to make my Beretta 92fs cycle. Well, I learned . . . .

If you can get hold of some clays 3.0 grains should cycle it. I use ADi AS30N which is the Australian equivalent and the fast powders seem to cycle a lot better than the slow to mid ones.

had cycling issues with a slower powder that cleared up with Bullseye.

This was my exact thought when I tread the OP. Those little bullets are going to skedaddle out the barrel with only a little pressure on their backsides. Your going to need to use something that bumps that up quicker in order for it to build enough pressure to cycles your slide properly.

The difference between . . .

Okay. Thanks. This is helping me understand the difference between slow and fast powder.

If you're at minimum, just up your load until it does. A lot of semi-autos won't cycle with minimum loads. That's why they specify a load range. 9mm is a high pressure round with low case capacity, and even slower powders than Unique can still work well in it.

Well, it gets worse . . .

I've been back to my bench and wanted to recheck the info I used to make these loads. I always, or so I thought, triple check the load data before I start. Well, I can't find the formula I used on these loads. I must have mis-read something at least twice. I'm lucky I don't have a box full of squibs.
