I heard that Eva Longoria shot better than Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland when practicing for The Sentinel; I also heard that it's because she used to go shooting with her dad. Anyone know about this?
Years ago, I heard Stern say on his radio show that the 2nd Amendment was so old that is is irrelevant to "modern times" and it has no place in "today's society" or words to that effect.
They're Libertarians, gun control is a big issue for them. But of course they're just liberal media entertainers that also dislike the Boy Scouts, the death penalty, laws against drugs and prostitution, creationism, and government intrusion on privacy so of course they're couldn't possibly be truly pro-gun.
Being somewhat for citizen arms shows some promise though. Some people don't agree with me saying that a gun safety test for people who already know it and are purchasing their first firearm and a gun safety course for new gun-people would be a good idea. Or a one time licensing that would cover both purchases and concealed carry after the proficiency and gun safety course would be a good idea, any decent person would get it and then could buy anything they want, then private sells would just recquire to show your card. Switzerland has a similiar thing but their license only allows for 3 guns each license issued, and I strongly don't agree with it. I also think a national licensing of some kind could help us open up the machine gun registration somewhat, which would be a lot of fun
That's something that's not unreasonable at all, because gun safety is important and I have seen some shooters every now and then who don't have gun safety down at all.
I hope I don't sound even slightly like an anti-arms person because I think they are some of the most ignorant fools around.
L&H-
There isn't a government that has existed that has been successful in legislating safe human behavior. There isn't a government that has existed who didn't eventually curtail private firearms ownership (including Switzerland). And there isn't a Gun Confiscation program imaginable that didn't begin with licensing legislation or fiat.
The main problem with this nation is that everyone is afraid of everyone else's lack of safety on some issue or another. In conditions like that, .gov needs have no master plan for curtailing Human Rights; the citizens volunteer them freely at the Altar of Public Safety....death/injury stats are seldom affected, but that doesn't matter; it just "feels" more safe.
