First off, I was recommended this site by a good friend of mine that said this was THE place to get firearm info so I'd like to thank him for referring me but I have no idea what his userid is. Sorry man!
On to my questions.
Over a year ago I was able to pick up one of these bad boys with the folding stock. I'll admit, I was totally pulled into this purchase because of the "coolness" factor plus I actually do enjoy shooting shotguns in general so I thought it was a win/win situation.
While I was waiting for it to arrive, I did some major research on it, mostly via www.spas12.com. I read the article on the safety recall about a dozen times worried that I happened to get the "flip safety". The pics of the gun did not show that particular side of it so I was not sure.
Unfortunately, it does have the flip safety, and although I'm fairly confident in my own safety measures, I can honestly say I am fearful to actually use the shotgun due to that flaw. I did note that on the spas12.com site that some smiths were able to swap the safety for the new one provided they could get their hands on the materials.
I know what most of you are thinking, why did I wait over a year to really even consider any of this. Well to be honest, real life got in the way of my shooting time and well, I kinda got disinterested in it shortly after. Stupid I know, but I am definitely back into it and will be getting a new pistol in a few days.
Back on topic though, since I honestly don't think I'll ever really use/need it, should I sell it? Also, I've tried and tried to disassemble the barrel portion of it to see how I'd go about cleaning it and such, but for the life of me I can't get the damn thing apart. I've looked and looked at the manual and have the dissassembly guide from spas12.com printed out as well. I'm sure it's user error as I am far from a firearm expert.
Anyone interested in taking it off my hands? I'd make it a reasonable deal thats for sure. I'd end up using the cash to buy ammo for my other guns anyway hehe. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
