Can someone tell me either how I can purchase a Spartan gun on their website, or where I can buy Spartan guns online (new - no auctions)? I'd appreciate it. Thanks :)

I have decided that I would much rather a pump shotgun. I think I will get a Remington 870 because of reliability and price, which are both excellent.

Can anyone tell me how a 12ga's recoil is compared to a 20ga?

I don't know if it matters or not, but I have never shot a shotgun. I have shot handguns and the rifles I have shot are a AK47 and a Mini 14... again I don't know if its stupid, but is the recoil the same as either of those?

Is a 12ga ok for Upland hunting?

Basically, I need a gun for Upland hunting and POSSIBLY but definitely not for sure, turkey hunting. But there isn't much of a chance of that, it's just something I'd consider. I am 15 years old and need to know if I could hande a 12ga.

I started out with a 12 gauge when I was younger than you and I think you could handle the kick but you are probably better off to get a 20 gauge just for the fact that it is lighter to carry and should handle better for you. both gauges are fine for upland hunting and both are fine for turkey hunting. get the 20 gauge and find a local range to do a little trap shooting or just somewhere you can go to shoot the gun. the most important thing is to get used to the gun.

I have a Remington 870 Marnum in 12 guage. Tthe recoil on the light loads isn't bad. My 100lb fiance can shoot it fine, although I'm sure it's pretty heavy for her. For turkey, they will both do fine with buckshot.

Alright. Thanks to yall and the Shotgunworld.com forums, I have decided to get a 20 gauge Remington 870. It's not like this is the only gun I will ever buy, so I think I can have this one and a 12 gauge later. But, I wouldn't mind having a beautiful Browning pump shotgun. Mmmmmm... ;)

I know this is retarded to ask. But do people hunt with Single-Shot shotguns? It seems like it would be hard to load every shot. That's why I decided to get a pump instead. My cousin has a 12 gauge 870 that is really nice.

If I'm not mistaken, I just need to look for #7.5 7/8oz. loads, correct? These can be purchased at walmart but I wasn't positive if thats what I needed for upland hunting.
