I am looking to buy a custom IWB holster for my Beretta 92...I have narrowed it down to either the VMII or the EX Comanion both by Milt Sparks....HELP.

Please list why you chose the one you did

The VMII is superior to the Companion. The main reason I say this is because if you buy an IWB holster you want it as thin as possible.

If you look at the VMII you'll notice the belt loops are in front and behind the pistol. That is quite different from the Companion which has the loops attached directly on the middle of the holster. By moving the loops to the front and back of the holster you come out with a thinner IWB.

I've owned several different holsters over the years and none have matched up with MS holsters. That's all I currently own right now. I also have one on order for my Colt Detective Special.

Here's my VMII with a PX4 riding in it.

I bought the VMII for my stainless Commander because of the wide spread of the loops.
I also think the VMII is a little thinner overall than the EX Comp.

The only reason I might choose the EX Comp would be if I wanted to use it for some kind of competitive shooting exercise where the pistol has to be reholstered quite a bit. The stiff opening of the EX Comp would of course be best for that.
But for everyday SD carry, the VMII, I think, conceals just a little better plus it's design keeps the rig in place like it's screwed to your hip.

I used to carry in the Summer Special/Executive Companion style holsters because I didn't like how much belt real estate the Versa Max took up.

I have since changed my mind. The VMII is so comfy and stable that I changed holsters and won't go back.

ah, moo

At least you're shopping at the right place......

(You might want to give them a phone call for a QUICK chat-up about what might work best for you: QUICK, because they're busy.)

I bought a summer special and one of his competition screw tension holsters and magazine holder at a Pocatello gun show in the seventies, Milt was behind the table. I still have em, altho the summer special looks like it has been rode hard. Good stuff, ya can't go wrong.
