Spare Parts for 1911?

A quick question for the slabsides ghurus out there:

What parts do you recommend having on hand to repair and maintain a no bells and whistles 1911a1? I admit to getting rather nervous of what the gungrabbers are doing to us. I would like to have any parts necessary to keep my baby running forever if necessary.
Extra Barrel?
Spring Sets?
What internal parts most regularly need replaced due to wear and tear?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about what parts break the most but www.edbrown.com has parts for sale including kits that contain, for example, all of the springs and pins required to build a 1911 type pistol and you can order online. I have had very good luck with Ed Brown stuff.

Here are a few spare parts to have on hand -
: slide stop/release
: firing pin stop
: pre-fitted extractor (ready to install)
: recoil spring (rated)
: firing pin spring (extra power)
: hammer spring (mainspring)
: recoil spring plug (in case of loss)
: recoil buffer (eg. Wilsons 'Shok Buffer')
It's a start. There'll be other suggestions.

Springs (all of them)
Firing Pin Stop
Firing Pin
Extractor
Pre Fitted Hammer, Sear and Disconnector
(with all pins and struts)
Magazine Release
Slide Stop
