I just got a Marixa eibar 10ga sxs from my father in law. It is made in spain, but designed for Parker - Ballard in Delaware.
Anyone know anything about these guns? Value?

EDIT: My search on this forum seems to suggest that any SPanish SxS is a crapshoot.

crap shoot ?

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Spanish guns do go from the lower end to a high end depending on maker and even within one maker. I have a AYA detachable side lock 20 ga SXS That is on the upper end quality wise. The AYA box lock doubles are about half the price. I have not heard of the maker you mention. Eibar is a town in Spain where several gun makers are located. You should be able to look at the finish work on the gun, ie wood to metal fit, fasteners, etc. and tell if it's lower or higher quality.

"Parker-Ballard Importers of Marixa shotguns in Wilmington, Delaware."

I did a little searching on line and found 2 12 ga. guns mentioned. One was for sale on gunsamerica for $350 in 95% condition and the other was sold in 2004 for $265 in excellent condition.

And that's all I know about it.

I have a Garbi 16GA SxS Mod. 100. Best thing to do on these Spanish guns is to contact the importer you listed. They are typically one of only a few importers for the manufacturer, and thus usually have a lot of sales, etc. information for you. For example, for my Garbi, William Larkin Moore & Co. in Scottsdale, AZ is the sole US importer.

Good luck,

Mark
