SP101 Pricing

I was nosing through the gun shop near my house and saw that they had an SP101 in great condition. When i asked to see it I saw the price was $350. Is it just me or is that a little high for this gun?

Used? Yes. New? Probably so-so. My local shop occasionally gets them new and sells for $325 or thereabouts (sometimes higher, sometimes lower depends on his price). They usually sit awhile before somebody buys one. Tough as hell, but it is a bit bulky. I'd like to have one eventually, but other things take priority.

Don't want to make any one jealous, but I got my, gosh it has been seven years ago already, SP101 3 inch barrel .38+P for $230, brand new. I suppose prices have gone up since then but I think I still got a great deal. The dealer wanted to get rid of it and make room for .357 models. This little beauty is my night stand gun, and I would not part with her for anything. I guess I am too sentimental!

One of my local dealers has one of those puppies in his case right now for $ 395 NIB. I got mine about a year and half ago for $ 335 out the door NIB.

Here in western Nevada I generally see used .357 SP 101s in fair to good condition for around $300 to $325. NIB for this caliber are between $375 to $400. .38s, when I saw them, were a little less. Prices seemed to go up a little after 9-11.

Dudes, and Dudettes: I think new Ruger prices across the board have gone up like......at least $50 per gun in the last year. S&W with their outragious prices for Scandium and Titanium can stick em up their Rumpinium.

Sp 101

Found mine used in good condition with a Hogue Monogrip on it for $275. 357 mag. shoots nice.

Just recently purchased a SP101 .357 2.25" bbl with Hogue monogrip on GA for $285. Looks brand new to me. The FFL I go through told me NIB is $428 less tax.
