I order a new SP101 on 11-1-05 & it came in on 11-3 . After checking the revolver over good before I sign on the dotted line I saw what I thought might be a problem . This is on the 3 " bbl SP101 . Lay the gun down on the table with the bbl facing left . (being the direction the cylinder would spin out as if reloading) On the back lower edge of the frame just below where the cylinder stops theirs a weird lil dipsy doodle bump . Is that supposed to be their or is something that was missed when it was milled . I'm not really sure & neither was my L.G.S. owner. I didn't want to except it if it wasn't right & it could still be sent back to the distributer before I put money on it . Those of you who have an SP101 could you look at yours & please help me before I buy mine . I loved the feel of the 3"er & want it to be right when I buy it . Thanks in advance for any light you may be able to shed on this for me. What is it there for if it is supposed to be their ? Also those of you who have a 3"er how do you like them ? Thanks again bshort64 !!!

My 2.25" doesn't have what I think you're describing. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it, probably just a small spot they missed.

If it really bothers you, see if you can get another one. Without seeing it, it's hard to comment.

If you are referring to a half-circular raised area, oriented vertically in the long dimension, with the flat part on the left and the curved part on the right, all of my four SP-101's have this.

Aren't you guys just referring to the little guide that the cylinder spins agains when it is open?

Looks like you're describing the cylinder stop. All revolvers have one, regardless of who made them. I just recently got the 2.25" SP101 and I think it's a great little wheelgun.
