SP101 front sight

I'm a new owner of a 4" .22 SP101...fantastic little gun...except for one thing. For me, the front sight is too thick for a precise sight picture. Can anyone point me towards a thinner aftermarket replacement? Thanks all.

I'm not aware of any thinner sights, but FYI, just in case you were looking at them, I put a Trijicon sight on my SP, it's the same dimensions as the factory sight.

Thanks SK.

One more question for someone who has tried this...I put a Wolff 10lbs. reduced power Hammer Spring in (just because, and it came with the gun along with 9 and 12lbs. springs...factory is 14lbs). Was wondering if I would have any ignition or any other problems? I'm going to the range in a few days, but was curious about anyone elses experiences. Thanks

Mainspring

I have a 9 lb one in my .357 and it works all the time but it has been tuned. The rimfire may require a bit heavier. I would take it out and try it. It may just turn out to work fine.

I haven't had any problems with the reduced power hammer springs, reducing the trigger return spring may cause problems with trigger reset.
Light springs in my GP 100 did cause some misfires when using CCI primers but work OK with Win primers. May not apply to rimfire however.
Do a search of this board & gunsmithing, there have been some pretty good discussions about changing SP springs.

TN-popo,a little judicious file work would take care of Your too wide front sight. If You don't feel up to it have a gunsmith take a look at it.tom.:)

Tom...I've already got 2 factory front sights so that's what I'm probably going to end up doing if I don't find something aftermarket.
