Soviet Armor importation?(It is NFA...right?)

Ok here is a little back story.

tonight me and a few buddies where talking about going off-roading and how we hate clearing the trails and also how we would like something that floats! so I made a silly suggestion, "we should just get a old piece of armor" so After a few laughs we got curious. so we googled "soviet armor" (because commie stuff is always cheap) and to our surprise we found a web site with soviet Jets, APCs, trucks and a T-55. And they where very reasonably priced (don't know the what shipping would cost).

But then we ran into a small problem...most still had a live MG's plus the main cannon.

Now we know the MG's are a Big No,no.....but what about the single shot breach loading 100mm cannon? Is it possible to own one with the Main gun live? can you legally get ammo? would it make us mall ninjas?

Import a demilled tank. File a Form 1 and pay $200 to build a destructive device. Then make the gun functional. Have fun.

Each explosive round is a destructive device, so it's $200 tax per round each. Most people shoot practice rounds.
 
Sooo we would have to build de-mil it then re-mil it :confused: Man who made this #$#@ up

P.S how do you De-mil a tank cannon.....and how to you re-mill it? and why is each round a Destructive device? it is just gun powder, brass and lead.
 
If it explodes, it's a destructive device and subject to the NFA which means $200 tax per weapon ie the explosive cartridge. Thank the NRA. They supported the NFA.
 
Interordance used to sell reconditioned T-34s, when a guy actually bought one, they doubled the price. There are scout cars and such for sale in the US, pricey, but they're out there.

The NRA didn't get into politics until after the passage of the NFA in 1934. They didn't get into actual lobbying until even later than that. Up until 1934 the NRA did marksmanship/shooting sport promotion and little else.

If you have information about the political activites of the NRA related to or leading up to the passage of the NFA I would love to see it.

It may well be that the NRA leadership in 1934 was in favor of the passage of the NFA (although it appears that the sole supporting evidence for this idea is an article written more than 3 decades later), but I've not seen any evidence at all that indicates they actually DID anything in support of it. In fact, all the evidence indicates that they did nothing at all related to politics leading up to the NFA passage.

Which means that the idea that we should "thank the NRA" for the NFA is completely baseless.
 
The only real problem is a lack of 10k each........Maybe we should go into prostitution?:D so if there is any chance of getting it is is at least a year off :(
 
At Jacques Little's private tank musem, our guide told us the tank has to be demilitarized. Part of the breechface must be machined away so as to render the gun unsafe to fire. The armor must be compromised so a huge chunk of a turret is cut out. It may be rewelded on, but its integrity would not be there if left alone. I was told when the T-72 was imported, it was only about $5k for the tank but $15k for the freight.
 
JohnKsa. You are giving factual information to a group of people who want to import a working , functional T34 for off road and hunting. Please don't confuse them any more than they are:)
 
Wow... for $30k I could have my very own BMP-1 armored personnel carrier... I would probably run out of money for gas shortly after buying it though, wonder what kind of mileage those things get?
