The "Osage Orange Sharpshooters" highpower rifle clubs upcoming schedule of events is as follows:
Sept. 19 Garand League Match monthly shoot at Andy Dalton Range. Start time 5:30 PM. Garand shooters accumulate points for season total. Other US Military rifles welcome to shoot (AR, M1-a, '03). Four stages, 50 rds., all at 100 yds. "mini" course. Entry fee for non-members is $10.00. Spectators are always allowed at no charge.
Sept. 23 AT the Missouri Conservation Depts. "Great Outdoors Day" at the Andy Dalton Range the Osage Orange Sharpshooters will have a couple of booths on the range to showcase the club to the public in an effort to promote the sport of highpower rifle. Several Garands will be available to allow anyone who wants to shoot one to fire a few familiarization rounds.
The "Great Outdoors Day" is an annual event of the MO Conservation Dept. where reps from numerous rifle, shotgun, ammo, & archery mfgs. are on hand to showcase products and let the public try them out on the rifle, skeet, trap, & archery ranges. According to the range officers, they usually see 1000+ people at this event. Time, 8:30-4:00. For more info on the event, call the Andy Dalton Range at (417) 742-4361.
Oct. 6 Highpower Rifle Clinic. Members of the Army Marksmanship Unit will be on hand to give instruction in highpower rifle shooting. Meeting held in Andy Dalton Range classroom at 6:00 PM.
Oct. 7 "John C. Garand match", 7:30 AM at Andy Dalton Range. Spectators welcome. Non-member shooters fee, $10.
