South Dakota Gov Signs Fantastic Emergency Powers Law Addition!!

Thanks for that. It did make my day, especially this part:

(2) Seize, commandeer, or confiscate in any manner, any:
(a) Firearm, including any component or accessory;
(b) Ammunition, including any component or accessory;
(c) Ammunition-reloading equipment and supplies; or
(d) Personal weapons other than firearms;

Excellent!
(I’m going to walk out on a limb and bet that Governor Newsom isn’t going to follow suit?)

That's out of context....&...it really is 100% NOT what the bill really says.

That makes it seem like they CAN do all those things.

In reality - this is the paragraph that preceeds it:

"No state agency, political subdivision, or any elected or appointed official or
employee of this state or of a political subdivision may, under any governmental authority
or color of law, including any other statutorily authorized responses to disaster, war, acts
of terrorism, or emergencies of whatever kind or nature:"

Changes the whole complexion of those 5 bullet points.

Governor Newsom is a half-wit! So happy to have our Gov. here in Florida. Ex-Navy man and all! We are all housebound now, for 30 days. No Worries.

Said he, with a Gen 4 Glock 19 holstered!

It is a short term provision as Section 3 states that the Act is repealed July 1, 2021.
Yes, but that's the entire law, including Section 1, which grants to governor certain emergency powers. Basically, it's a law with a sunset provision, which is something I have always thought to be a good thing.

Thanks. You're correct. The quote made sense when the statement was fresh in my mind - but out of context it's quite off.
