South African PMP 9mm ammo

PMP, Denel, whatever the stuff that comes in the blue box...

Of those of you that have tried it, do you also find that it is a little underpowered? It was barely ejecting out of my Witness, however, I did put a heavier Wolff spring in it. I wanted to do a side by side comparison, with the Sellier and Bellot, but forgot to pay attention to what ammo I was shooting and how the ejection patterns went after a while.

Bottom line: Do I order the $110/1000 delivered of the South African ammo or buy Sellier and Bellot locally for $130/1000 out the door?

Hello. Yes, the S.A. 9mm ammo is a bit light in that it chronographs just over 1100 ft/sec from my HPs. I prefer it to the S&B as I find it more accurate and the primer pocket is not as tight for reloading. Best.

I have used the S&B, besides the fact its dirty, its a goog buy. I was at the range last night and noticed about 4 out of 200 rounds "sounded different", the bang was more puffy. Not sure why. You may want to look at Federal American Eagle.

I don't know about the 9m/m PMP ammo, but the .45 stuff works fine. I shot a lot of it over the past week end. I noticed no difference in recoil or sound between it and the FC 96 loads.

Mylhouse,
I've gone through 1500 rds of 9mm 115gr PMP without the slightest problem. Just got 1000 more. Don't see how you can beat it for cheap practice ammo.

PMP has worked well in many of my 9mms but it failed to allow my FM High-Power to go completely into battery. Like the other poster my FM has a stronger recoil spring. Regards, Richard.

I bought 1,000rnds. ($112 delivered) of Denel 9mm 115gr. FMJ. A week ago I put a total of 250rnds through my CZ 75B and P226 with no problems to report. The ammo did seem a bit mild but my pistols functioned fine with their standard recoil springs. HTH.
