South African M1A2 5.56 Battle Packs

A buddy of mine has a lot of these. I'd like some (lots) of spare AR ammo. He is willing to trade me quite a few of these for a few random things I'm trying to get rid of. What do you all think of this ammo? I'm hoping to shoot some of it soon.

Someone, please go into as much detail as to why you like it or why you hate it. If one were to put a current monetary value on each of these packs, how much would it easily sale for? I just wanna get roughly "value" for what I'm trading.

That is good ammo, pretty hot, and loaded to m193 specs.

Most all of it is berdan primed I believe. It is not new ammo, but very good surplus. Back in the day, it was very cheap to buy, but wasn't everything?

I would buy all I could of it from him if it was a fair price.

Excellent surplus... if the deal is good, get as much as you can ... you won't be sorry. Value.. given the current market... $75 per pack, mostly because it isn't reloadable.

It's quite good ammunition. Trade all your excess baubles for as much as you can. $65-$75 a sack is a fair price. More than that is gun show pricing. Be sure to pick up all your Berdan-primed brass, you can recycle it for about $4 a pound and use that to get reloadable brass ammo later.

take advantage of your friend's offer. I have, er, 'several' steel cases of the stuff in the bulk locker.
The SA, along with the Portuguese, Radway and DAG, has always been in the premium category for 5.56x45 mil surp.
