Sources Needed For Quality AR15 Magazines

I know I could ask this on AR15.com but I feel more comfortable asking it here.

I'm looking for quality AR15 magazines to feed a new Bushmaster .223 and I don't know what brands are good and what are junk. Please educate me. If anyone can give me a source or two for quality 20, 30, and 40 round magazines I would be most appreciative. Also please give me quick rundown on what brands are out there and what I should expect to pay. Thank you in advance.

Look for USGI magazines. The ones with the green follower have a longer anti-tilt legs in back to improve the feeding of ammo; but the black follower ones are pretty reliable (plus you can buy replacement kits at Bushmaster to update the black follower mags to green followers)

Cooper Industries was a USGI manufacturer and lost its contract. Some people recommend you avoid Cooper (look at the baseplate to see) mags that only have three spot welds along the back spine of the magazine instead of the standard six-seven. I have two of the three-weld magazines though and they both work fine for me.

Also don't forget to check the AR15.com mag FAQ.

Never miss a chance to plug the good folks at www.clipsNstuff.com
Just purchased some used Colt 20 rounders for $24.95. They carry the Thermolds and GI's as well. They may be a bit higher priced than other websites but the service is outstanding any any used mag I've ordered and received has been in exactly the shape they described. Not so from some other sources I've dealt with.
Mags they sell are guaranteed to work or they'll take them back.
Take Care

I echo the comments above. Go with USGI and you'll have no problems. However, the Orlites and Thermolds work well too. As far as sellers go, Tommy at Georgia Precision is great, so is Adam at Cruffler. Also, try Eric at ammoman.com. Very good service there too. Cole Distributing usually has some. There are all kinds of places to go. For a complete list of links to retailers/manufacturers, try my favorites page.
