I think I just bought one
At a pawn shop, it says M1917 on the butt, without any US Government markings. The barrel has an obviously better blueing than the frame and cylinder. And it is a round butt with bee-oo-tiful checkered wooden grips. Now if didn't have the rust pits in the chambers and bore I'd be happier. I didn't even know there was a round-butt 1917. Is it rare?
