Source for New Factory Hi Power 13rd Mags???

Thanks for the info, but I'm searching for new mags in perfect condition, factory only.

P.S.: I edited this because I think I came off as kind of a snob at first.;)

"New" mags, "Perfect" condition........I'd suggest to you that they don't exist anymore. Even the ones being sold as "new" are, in reality, slightly used. The ones that Mrs. X found in the closet after Mr. X died and wants to sell are few and far between.

Well, you could always move to a country that still allows hi-caps, but that's about the only way you'll be buying really new BHP 13 round magazines. Can I ask why the single-minded desire to have "new" magazines? Is it a cosmetic issue?

I know you didn't ask, but there are a few of us here at TFL who really like the KRD (South African) 17 round magazines sold at www.cdnninvestments.com.

They are new and function great. If your Hi-Power has the mag safety, these mags have a very smooth finish which makes for a good trigger pull. Kind of a "poor man's trigger job".

The only downside is they are really hard to load the first few times. But they get easier over time.

Novak's gun shop had a supply of 500 new Mec-Gar 13 round mags, selling for $45 each. I imagine the supply will not last much longer. Hi-caps are quickly disappearing for all makes.

Ok, for those of you who think I'm an idiot for wanting "new" mags in "perfect" condition, I want them that way because this mag is for a NIB "perfect" condition older Hi-Power. I was trying the best I could to match it up with a mag that is as close to perfect as possible, because I plan to use this as a collector gun. The pistol only has one mag with it, and strangley enough, its "new" and in "perfect" condition.

These mags are out there, but hard to find. I want unused. Why do I need to justify that?

jonwill,
You can keep your insults to yourself. I'm not moving to another country, and I don't see how you can label me as "single-minded".

Some of my AIM mags are perfect, so if you're not averse to driving to
Middletown, you might find some good ones for $35 each.

JRiggs,
Trying to make the tangent sight Browning HP into a collector from parts purchased elsewhere is a losing proposition...unless you find a total idiot that will buy it. The model you mentioned on another thread has no real collector value - it is a newer model. As such it never came with factory standard capacity mags after a certain serial number.

I hope you aren't trying to hoodwink someone here at TFL.

JRiggs - You didn't state why you were looking for new magazines only in your ogiginal post. Why don't you untie that knot in your panties and relax. If you're going to become inflamed because you don't like the replies, stop posting questions.

Slickpuppy,

Why would I be trying to ripoff a TFL member? I want this for my own collection. I think 20-30 years down the road it may be worth something. I'm in no way trying to pass it off as something it is not.

I've always received great and friendly responses from this bored. I really don't know what went wrong here. Maybe I misunderstood johnwill's attempt at humor. Sorry if I did. That's one of the bad things about internet communication. Sometimes its hard to know what others really mean.

I guess I should stay away from this bored for a while. Thanks for the help anyway.

QA and dave R are correct, CDNN has them, made by Mec-Gar (Wayne Novak has 13 rd Mec-Gar's too). Mec-Gar has been the original equipment supplier to browning for at least the last 10 years. They make the current 10 rounders and made the factory 13 rounders once they got the contract around 1990 or so.
