I have a 98 mauser that was built by Walter Gehmann between 1955 and 1970 and would like to find a source for info on the rifle. There were only 50 of the made. It is a 30.06 with a single shot 22LR in the forearm.
Since this is a custom or semi-custom built rifle made in Germany, you are highly unlikely to get a knowledgable response on this U.S. based forum.
I would suggest posting on a German firearms forum. Waffen-On Line has an International (English) forum and I would suggest trying that one.
